Channel Swimmer Uses Hypnosis for Shark-phobia |
|
A terrifying childhood experience with a shark has not dissuaded a
Suffolk paramedic from a cross-channel swim in aid of charity. Mark Ransom has sought hypnotherapy to help him out in the open sea should he find himself in similar circumstances to his close encounter with a shark off Clacton at the tender age of 14.
Now 38 years old, the paramedic from Bury St Edmunds believes it was
just a basking shark but he has still sought professional help to put
the experience behind him for the upcoming swim in aid of East Anglia's
Children's Hospices. |

Dr. Oz on Hypnotherapy
"Like guided imagery, hypnosis uses the focused power of the mind and imagination
to improve health, change a behavior like smoking
or achieve emotional balance.
In a relaxed state of concentrated attention, ideas and suggestions seem to have
a powerful impact on the mind."
Oprah on Meditation
"We believe in meditating. I believe in meditating in the tub with some very
nice bath products. You can
sit in the chair, you can sit on the floor, you can sit in the window, you can
sit in the tub. I give myself at least ten minutes every day in some form of
meditation. I happen to like the tub."
